I took only a short video of Sophia riding her horse. It was a little tricky to watch Lexi, wait for them to come back, not step in horse poop and get pictures and videos. She loved it.

Posted by Melissa | Under Sophia Thursday Aug 16, 2012Sophia starts fourth grade today. She got on the bus about 30 minutes ago with her friend Rithu. They’re the old kids on the bus now, ready to rule the roost. This is also her last year at Prairie Ridge and she’ll move up to the middle school next year. So big so fast.
There are more pictures in her new Sophia Fourth Grade album.
Sophia in Wax
Posted by Melissa | Under Sophia Friday May 25, 2012Sophia’s class hosted a wax museum today. She was Henry Ford. Each third grader was a historic figure and had memorized a speech to tell us about them. They were wearing posterboard costumes and had small ‘Press Here’ buttons so we could press the buttons to hear their speeches. It was adorable, and Lexi wanted to push all the buttons. We didn’t, but we did press a few. Sophie’s, Gracie’s, Annika’s, Caitlin’s, Brianna’s, Mikayla’s and Josey’s. It was fun and they all did a really great job. (There are a couple pictures in her album)
Awana Graduate
Posted by Melissa | Under Sophia Friday May 4, 2012We went to Awanas on Wed. night this week for the dinner and awards. Sophia finished her first book a few weeks before the end of the year and worked on the extra credit pieces after that, missing only one because it was very difficult and she got sick. We’re so very proud of her. She loves TnT and Awanas and has such a great time every week.
A Kid’s Life
Posted by Melissa | Under Sophia Friday Apr 13, 2012Sophia’s school musical was last night at the new Prairie High School concert hall. It’s a really nice facility and it was much nicer than sitting on the bleacher in the elementary gym. I’ve got four videos of musical, so keep checking until you see all four. The program was given by the 3rd and 4th grade classes, around 160 kids is my guess. They did a great job and it was really cute. And short..which is why we love Prairie. They know how to do things right.
The story of the program is that kids are left home with their grandparents while they’re parents go to work. But the internet goes out and the power flickers and they have no internet, no wii, no xbox, no texting, no electronic toys, no technology. Ah the horror! A lesson in how to have a good time without all the technology I guess. It was pretty cute.

Sophie, the deal maker.
Posted by Melissa | Under family, Sophia Sunday Apr 8, 2012Thursday night (I think) we came down from tucking the girls into bed and found this.
This is Sophie’s chore chart. She’s made it for herself, I think to avoid whatever awful chores I might come up with for her this summer. Her chores include make bed, brush teeth, brush hair, be kind to dogs, be nice to sis, help family. All noble and wonderful goals 🙂 Here’s the actual text:
READ THIS!
I made my own chore chart. If I do them all, I get two dollars. If I do some, I get one. If I don’t do any, I get zero. So, Deal?
P.S. I’m starting the chores next week, cause it’s in the midle of this week already. Deal? Deal!
She’s so funny and smart and creative and resourceful. I might let her try this out..because my printer hasn’t been working, so she may need to draw out her own chore charts anyway.
Happy Easter everyone!

Alexis the Photographer, assisted by Sophia
Posted by Melissa | Under Alexis, family, Sophia Friday Jan 6, 2012Lexi got a camera for Christmas. She loves it so very much, she filled it up in about two days. I’ve cleared off the pictures and here are some of the results. There are A LOT of pictures of the TV. There are a lot of blurry pictures of I don’t know what. Some of them turned out pretty well though. She set off making more videos and pictures today since I cleared it off, she loves it. Enjoy.
Happy Birthday Sophia!
Posted by Melissa | Under Sophia Monday Nov 7, 2011Sophia turns NINE today! This weekend we had some family over to visit and give gifts and eat cake. She had a great time and today she’s at school and Lexi and I will bring cupcakes to the classroom this afternoon. Happy Birthday Sophia! There are photos in her album and I’m trying to figure out now how to cut up the video so it doesn’t take an eternity to upload or watch. I couldn’t cut decide how/where to cut the video..so here’s the whole thing, its long 🙂
Ah the family photo
